Youth invited to join rocketry group

PRINCETON — The Bureau County 4-H program will offer a model rocketry special interest club for area youth. All youth ages 8-18 as of Sept. 1, from Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, and Putnam counties are invited to participate.

A 4-H Special Interest Club meets six or more times per year. Adult leaders work with the youth to learn about a specific topic or project that interests them. Youth have opportunities to achieve individual learning goals within the program topic. The model rocketry club will use information from the 4-H aerospace project and other related resources to help youth learn about building and flying model rockets.

The first meeting of the rocketry club will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Midwest Power Rocket Launch site north of Princeton. Registration is required. To register, or for more information, call the Bureau County Extension office at 815-875-2878.
