Turkey dinner

TISKILWA — The Tiskilwa Community Church will have a turkey dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The menu will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, salads, rolls, desserts and drinks. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children under 12. All are welcome.

Vendor fair

PRINCETON — St. Louis CCW of Princeton will sponsor a vendors fair, “Extravaganza Extraordinaire,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Louis Parish Hall, 617 Park Ave. West in Princeton. More than 30 vendors from around the state will present their products. Admission is free and free finger foods and drinks will be provided.

Christkindl Markt

PRINCETON — Christkindl Markt, a German Christmas market, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Open Prairie UCC, 25 E. Marion St., Princeton. This is a special feature of the Princeton Christmas Open House. Unique hand-crafted gifts, international cookie bazaar, German Advent calendars, fair trade coffees and chocolates will be available for purchase. The event will also feature a traditional German lunch and a free children’s activity (making gingerbread houses). Admission is free. For more information, call 815-872-5150.

Blood drive

SPRING VALLEY — The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

Bake sale

PRINCETON — A giant holiday and bake sale will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Prouty Building in Princeton. Cookies, candies, pies, coffee cakes, brownies, breads and other home-baked goods, as well as Christmas decorations and holiday gifts for pets and people, will be available. All proceeds will go to Friends of Strays No Kill Shelter. For information, call 815-872-PETS.

Vendor fair

PRINCETON — New Hope Church of the Nazarene will host a vendor and craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17. Admission is free, and there will be refreshments, food and baked goods available for purchase. Vendor spaces are still available. Contact the church at 815-875-1900.

Support group

PRINCETON — Bureau Valley Volunteer Hospice will host its monthly grief and loss support group at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 20 in the chapel at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Anyone that has lost a loved one is invited to attend.
