Martin Rieker

MILAN — Martin Junior Rieker, 75, of Milan died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at home.

Born Oct. 8, 1937, in Bureau County to Martin F. Rieker Jr. and Hazel Mae (Hubbard) Rieker, he married Rebecca Pizzettier Couture Nov. 3, 2010, in Rock Island. She survives.

He owned and operated a service station in Princeton for many years. He later was a field service mechanic for Conco for a time. He retired in 1997 as maintenance supervisor for Schwegmann Supermarket in Louisiana.

He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Rock Island Conservation Club.

Also surviving are two children, Lorie Lynn Kuipers of Atlanta Beach, Fla., and Michelle “Missy” Townsend of Middleburg, Fla.; two stepchildren, Lorrie Yepson of Princeton and Lori Couture Provenzano of Gretna, La.; three grandchildren, Zechariah, Caleb and Hannah Townsend; four stepgrandchildren, Isabella, Dante and Lucy Provenzano, and Chelsea; one sister, Velma Sergeant of Milan; many nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a special friend, Myron Sergeant of Milan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Vivian Anderson, Donald Rieker, Doris Huffaker and Marion Rieker.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201  E. Fourth Ave., Milan. Cremation will be accorded following visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
