The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is continuing preliminary engineering and environmental studies for the Corridor Expansion Program of Intercity Passenger Rail service from Chicago to the Quad Cities.

The Chicago to Quad Cities Passenger Rail service is proposed to have two round trips per day (four passenger trains each day) from Chicago to the Quad Cities and other intermediate locations including LaGrange, Naperville, Plano, Mendota, Princeton and Geneseo. New stations are also proposed for Moline and Geneseo.

IDOT has scheduled public meetings to present the study schedule, process and stakeholder involvement opportunities. The purpose of these meetings is to seek focused and direct input from stakeholders on the project. These meetings will be conducted in an open house format. Interested persons can attend anytime from 4 to 7 p.m. A presentation will be given at 4:30 p.m. and repeated at 6 p.m. at each meeting. Attendees will have the opportunity to review exhibits and meet with IDOT and study team representatives on a one-on-one basis.
