DIXON — Jim Higby of Dixon will present a program titled “Civil War (Pennies) — The Dixon Connection” at 7 p.m. Monday in the second floor conference room at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

Tokens were used in place of regular money in the Civil War, including Dixon merchants. The program includes a historical, genealogical and informative account of the study of coins.

The program is open to the public and the conference room is handicapped accessible. Refreshments will be served and there is no fee to attend. LCGS staff will be in the lobby of the hospital to direct participants. For more information, call the Family Tree Center at 815-288-6702 or stop by at 111 S. Hennepin Ave. in Dixon.
