Brown pleads guilty to drug charge

PRINCETON — A Michigan man has entered an open plea of guilty in Bureau County Court to the Class 1 felony of unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis.

Kenneth W. Brown, 41, of Detroit, Mich., entered his guilty plea Nov. 1 before Associate Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich. The judge ordered the probation department to conduct a pre-sentence investigation and set a sentencing hearing for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 7.

On Feb. 17, Brown was stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 80. During the traffic stop, a K-9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. The subsequent search revealed about 15 pounds of cannabis in the luggage in the trunk of the vehicle.
