BVHS student receives art award

Julia Edlefson (right) receives her Illinois Art Education Association Traveling Art Show Award for her ebony pencil drawing of a pear from Bureau Valley High School art instructor Sheila L. Heth. The awards were presented at the recent annual IAEA fall conference in Lisle. Her artwork was one of 40 to be selected from hundreds or artworks in grades K-12 submitted by IAEA teachers from across the state. All two dimensional work, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography and collage, are represented in the show. The show will travel around the state for the entire school year making its way to BVHS for the month of March.
