Honesty and RICL

Rock Island Clean Line has an honesty problem. This powerline desiring to transverse Northern Illinois claims big savings, but RICL refuses to say how much this energy will cost. They claim the wire for this powerline will be “supplied” by Southwire, an Illinois company. “Supplied” is a very interesting and ambiguous word. Walmart “supplies” a lot of stuff that is actually imported from overseas.  Where is this wire actually being manufactured?

RICL still refuses to say how much this energy will cost us. They only claim huge “savings.”

RICL claims they do not desire to use eminent domain. Yet Clean Line Energy Partners is working to develop Renewable Energy Transmission Authorities (RETA) in the southwest. Clean Line Energy is unsuccessful in gaining public utility status in states like Arkansas because there is no benefit to the state’s residents. To circumvent traditional regulatory authorities, like the Illinois Commerce Commission, Clean Line is taking advantage of creating new authorities like RETAs to gain eminent domain.
