Incumbents get the nod in state races
Rep. Adam Kinzinger won election to Illinois' new 16th Congressional District, handily defeating Democratic candidate Wanda Rohl with almost 62 percent of the vote, 179,123 to 110,378.
Locally, Kinzinger won in Bureau County with 62 percent of the vote to Rohl's 38 percent.
Kinzinger had represented a portion of Bureau County in the old 11th District. Redistricting put all of Bureau County in the new 16th District. Kinzinger defeated incumbent Don Manzullo in the March 20 Republican primary.
