Auxiliary, Legion to meet Wednesday

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its monthly business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home, 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton.

Reports on the proceeds of the soup supper and bakery table will be heard at this meeting along with a brief report on the District 16 fall meeting.

The Unit’s annual toy drive is in full swing from now until Dec. 8 for less fortunate children in the community. Donations for children age 1-12 may be dropped off at the post home vestibule in the special marked container.

Upcoming workshop dates and times have been announced and all hands will be needed to help with the Christmas gift bag workshop scheduled for December. For VA&R information and to make a monetary donation for this and other programs the Unit works, contact Clara Pease, chairperson, at 815-872-0430.

Membership information can be learned by attending any scheduled business meeting or contact Carol Allicks, chair, at 815-872-7891 in the evenings. New members meeting eligibility are always welcome to join the Unit.

Roger L. Eickmeier American Legion Post 125 of Princeton will also conduct its business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home.

Membership information can be learned by attending any scheduled business meeting or ask a Legionnaire.

Upcoming events will be discussed highlighting the bi-annual pancake breakfast being offered to the public on Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon. Tickets are available from any member and at the door.

The legion building is available for holiday family gatherings, funeral meals, rummage sales, fundraisers, birthday/anniversary events, bridal/baby showers and small receptions. For information, call the post home at 815-872-1171 and leave a message.

A light lunch will be served after the meetings.
