IVCC Veterans’ Association gets grant

Illinois Valley Community College’s Student Veterans’ Association has received a $3,000 grant from Walmart Corporate to help streamline the enrollment and financial aid application process for returning veterans, a population that has doubled at the college in recent semesters. The grant will also help the association develop a webpage and produce informational and awareness materials. Representing the association are (from left) advisors Missy Killian and Jeff Spanbauer and returning veterans Michelle Harrell of Streator, Pete Thomas of Spring Valley, Yvette Lucas of LaSalle, Bryan Klass of Princeton and Tony Bubb of Peru.
