Journey Stories coming to Princeton Public Library
Princeton Public Library Director Julie Wayland displays the welcoming sign for the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition that is coming to the library. The program will begin Sunday and continue through Dec. 29. The Journey Stories will examine the roles that travel and movement have played in building the diverse American society; tales of how Americans and their ancestors came to America; and the intersection between modes of travel and Americans’ desire to feel free to move. The story is diverse and focused on immigration, migration, innovation and freedom. The programs will include movies, music, children’s programs, speakers and much more. In March 2009, the library hosted the Between Fences traveling exhibit through a partnership with the Smithsonian Institution and the Illinois Humanities Council.
