Retail theft

Jade B. Beavers, 19, of Spring Valley was charged with retail theft from the Dollar General store, 116 S. Spalding St., at 11:10 a.m. Nov. 11. He was also charged with possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams.

Warrant arrest

William K. Duke, 38, of Putnam was arrested on a Bureau County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop on Taylor Street at 9:13 p.m. Nov. 9.

No valid driver’s license

Graciela K. Dahir, 34, of Spring Valley was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license at the intersection of Strong and First streets at 8:16 a.m. Nov. 12


Elizabeth Kendrick-Schoettlin, 50, of Spring Valley and Stephanie J. Spanos, 43, of Spring Valley were involved in an accident at the intersection of Richards and Third streets at 5:23 p.m. Nov. 9. Kendrick-Schoettlin was charged with failure to stop or yield. Spanos was taken to St. Margaret’s Hospital by 10-33 Ambulance Service.

Dawn C. Wilmer, 51, of Spring Valley and Rhonda J. Bezely, 46, of Ladd were involved in an accident on Emily Drive at 10:39 p.m. Nov. 10.

Patti L. Nelson, 54, of Princeton and Peter T. Phung, 23, of Mendota were involved in an accident in the parking lot of St. Margaret’s Hospital at 1:59 p.m. Nov. 12.

Marilyn A Bryant, 35, of Spring Valley and Simone L. Epps, 30, of Spring Valley were involved in an accident in the 200 block of North Barton Street at 3:10 p.m. Nov. 7. Bryant was charged with improper backing and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Hit and run

Parked vehicles belonging to Stephen J. Ladzinski, 26, of Oglesby and Robert D. LeClercq, 68, of Spring Valley were struck by an unknown dark-colored Chevrolet truck in the 200 block of South Greenwood Street at 9:52 p.m. Nov. 9.

Possession of cannabis

A 12-year-old John F. Kennedy Junion High School male student from Granville was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 1:11 p.m. Nov. 8 at the school.

Unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance

Laura A. Gill, 38, of Ottawa was charged with attempted unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance at 11:16 p.m. Nov. 8 at St. Margaret's Hospital. Gill allegedly provided false information to the hospital staff in an attempt to obtain prescription medication.
