Turtle fry

MANLIUS — The Manlius Sportsman’s Club will host a turtle fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 24. A price of $10 includes turtle, baked beans and potato salad, as long as it lasts.

Toy collection

PRINCETON — The Shekinah Riders Chapter 593 of the Christian Motorcyclist Association will collect toys for children in conjunction with Bureau County United Way through Dec. 12 at Tractor Supply, McDonald’s, Burger King, Mission County (former Harley-Davidson motorcycle shop), Sullivan’s, The Coffee Cup and Skoonerz.

BCGS meeting

PRINCETON — The combined November and December meeting of the Bureau County Genealogical Society will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at the society library, 629 S. Main St. in Princeton. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour. The main speaker for the evening will be Roger Moore of Rock Falls. Moore is a retired farmer who has spent 30 years researching and compiling his family history. For more information, call 815-879-3133.

Santa in Tampico

TAMPICO — Santa will arrive at the Tampico Ambulance Building at 4 p.m. Dec. 8. All Tampico children in attendance who are in grades kindergarten through fifth grade will be eligible to become royalty for the coming year. In addition to being given a crown and medal, they will receive a special Christmas book. For more information, contact Joan at 815-622-8705. The ambulance volunteers are also planning a chili supper that day.

Dinner for seniors

PRINCETON — The Princeton Moose Family Center will host its 32nd annual senior’s dinner on Dec. 2 at the Moose Lodge. This dinner is for seniors age 62 and over. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with dinner to be served at 12:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Generics Goodies Band. For reservations, call 815-915-8315 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.
