IVSO to perform holiday concert in Princeton

PRINCETON — The Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra will present its holiday concert at 4 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Princeton High School auditorium.

Under the direction of IVSO Music Director and Conductor Lucia Matos, the concert will feature many holiday favorites including, Berlin’s White Christmas, A Canadian Brass Christmas, Sleigh Ride by Anderson, Carol of the Bells, and a special narration of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by Princeton Mayor Keith Cain.

Susan Nelson is the concert’s guest soloist. A captivating soprano, Nelson will perform Silent Night, O Little Town of Bethlehem and Bach Christmas Cantata 133; Wie Lieblich Klingt. Nelson was born and raised in Princeton. At Princeton High School, she sang in the Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers and the Ladies’ Ensemble.
