Lady Devils fall in opener

Mike Struna’s Hall Lady Devils fell to Fulton 47-34 in the Oregon Tip-0ff Tournament Thursday.

Struna said the Lady Devils didn’t handle the Lady Steamers’ man-to-man defense very well but noted the positive of playing within 36-30 after three quarters. Fulton pulled away to victory with a 11-3 fourth-quarter advantage.

Brenna Faletti led Hall with 14 points with the Herrmann sisters, Becca (7) and Ellen (6), combining for 13 more.

Hall was to play Mendota Friday night.

Junior college: Illinois Valley Community College posted a 65-62 win at Lincoln College Thursday night, led by Amisha Homas (18 points, 15 rebounds) and Shareita Patton (12 points). IVCC is 5-0 and ranked No. 9 in the nation.
