Storm taking baby steps

PRINCETON — The final score may have been lopsided but Bureau Valley coach Tiffany Gonigam was able to come away with some positive things following their 52-5 loss to the Putnam County Lady Panthers in Thursday night action at the Princeton Holiday Tournament.

Gonigam challenged her team to double their shot attempts and cut down on turnovers in the second half and her team reached both of those goals.

“We only shot the ball 11 times in the first half according to our stats. (Putnam County) had 23 attempts,” said Gonigam. “I told the girls that makes a huge difference. I challenged them to double their shots and we took 22 shots in the second half, so they literally doubled that. I asked them to cut their turnovers down in the second half and we did that as well.”
