Allen Stone

CHERRY — Allen R. Stone, 62, of 401 E. Cherry in Cherry, died at 6:25 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after recovering from open heart surgery.

Mr. Stone was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Monmouth to Rolland C. and Marjorie (Hill) Stone. He married Rosalie Smith on June 9, 1978.

He worked at Illinois Cement for 33 years and was a part-time farmer for the Gillan family in Cherry. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and United Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed family and friends.

Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Rosalie of Cherry; his mother, Marjorie Stone of Franklin Grove; three sons, Chad (Anna) Stone of Omaha, Neb., Richard Stone of Cherry and Nathan Stone of Spring Valley; one daughter, Natalie (Doug) Lauck of Malden; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley (Charles) Crabtree of Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Patricia Ann Stone; and one brother, David Eugene Stone.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity United Church in LaSalle with Pastor Betty Delgado officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church.

Pallbearers will be Simon Epps, Jim Lauer, Joe Pearson, Ed Burash, Floyd Ladson, Stan Carlson, Kenny Ladson, Andy Mier, Bob Myer, Jose Chavez, and Russell, Terry and Harold Smith.

Memorials may be directed to donor’s choice.

The Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling arrangements.
