Dinner for seniors
PRINCETON — The Princeton Moose Family Center will host its 32nd annual seniors dinner on Dec. 2 at the Moose Lodge. This dinner is for seniors age 62 and over. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with dinner to be served at 12:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Generics Goodies Band. For reservations, call 815-915-8315 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Holiday concert
BUDA — Brock Tumbleson and Dave Sherard will present holiday music at the Bunker Hill Church of God in Buda at 1 p.m. Dec. 12. The public is invited to attend. For information, call 815-866-6191.
DAR to meet
PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Princeton Public Library. The program is “DAR Library Lay Light Restoration Campaign,” a DVD, and “Battle of the Hemp Bales,” during the Civil War by Evalynn Blanco. Members interested in playing the “War of 1812,” come early. Hostesses for the day are Jean Watkins, chairman; Sharon Murphy, Evalynn Blanco and Patricia Polson.
Celebration set
PRINCETON — “We the People” Tea Party invites all who attended its meetings to a Christmas party to celebrate the birth of Jesus at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Prouty Building, 435 S. Main St. A dish to pass would be appreciated. If you plan to attend, contact Kim at 815-579-1952 with the number of people attending and the dish you are bringing. There will be no meeting for this special evening.
Quilters Guild dinner
PRINCETON — Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will meet for a Christmas potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Christ Community Church, 1719 Euclid Ave. Bring a dish to share and table service. Gift shop open house
PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual holiday gift shop open house from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 7. Everything in the store, except for the purchase of candy, will be 10 percent off. The gift shop offers a wide selection of gifts, including ornaments, jewelry, hats, gloves, scarves, toys, purses, baby items, decorative home items and much more. The gift shop is located in the hospital’s main lobby. Refreshments will be served during the open house.
Retirement open house
PRINCETON — An open house to celebrate the retirement of Bureau County Circuit Clerk Laurie Abrahams will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday in the second floor jury room at the Bureau County Courthouse.
Performance set
UTICA — The Starved Rock Lodge and Conference Center at Starved Rock State Park in Utica will present a matinee performance by the Legacy Girls on Dec. 10 and 11. The event will also include a home-style lunch buffet in the Great Hall of the lodge. Matinees begin at 11:30 and include lunch and show for $32 per person.
