Cause of Kasbeer house fire is undetermined

KASBEER — The investigation continues into last week’s house fire in Kasbeer.

On Monday, Ohio Fire Chief Keith Ackerman said the cause of Thursday evening’s fire at the Jeremy Moorman house is still undetermined. The state fire marshal has been called to assist in the investigation.

The extent of damage was extensive to the first floor and the first floor attic section of the house with extensive smoke damage to the second floor of the house as well, Ackerman said. Four family members were home at the time of the fire and were able to escape without injury but were later treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, the fire chief said.
