PRINCETON — The Princeton High School Music Department announces the availability of ticket reservation information and order forms for the Princeton High School Madrigal Singers’ “A Feast of Fools”, the 2012 Madrigal dinner celebrating the holiday season.
Information is available by calling Princeton High School at 815-875-3308, ext. 246. Ticket reservation forms are available in the Princeton High School main office during regular school hours, or at www.phs-il.org.
Tickets to “A Feast of Fools” are $20, which includes entrance to the Rustic Stable Hall for the holiday celebration for a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon of musical entertainment, good food and good fun. The meal includes garlic breaded chicken, breast of vegetable lasagna, an assortment of breads and butters, spring salad with oranges, cranberries, almonds and vinaigrette, au grautin potatoes, bean and carrot mix with dill, holiday pudding and coffee, tea, lemonade and the traditional wassail.
Upon entering the Rustic Hall, guests are greeted by Dame Folly who introduces all to “A Feast of Fools”, wherein the world is turned topsy-turvy, totally upside down. For as faith and tradition tell, it is in the season to Christmas when three kings bowed down and gave rich gifts to a little babe, and a great King was born in a manger amongst the hairy creatures stabled there. Hence the upside down setting of the Madrigal Singers, instrumentalists and guests gathered in the stable, instead of the elegant castle, guild hall or inn. But do not fear — all else is right-side up!
The public is invited to the strains of beautiful music of the season, traditional wassail, and good food, and — as always — ample holiday cheer provided by the Madrigal Singers, the Madrigal Brass, the Recorder Consort, Yeomen, Wenches, Dame Folly, and the “dumb Beast”!
Members of the Princeton High School Madrigal Singers are Kathryn Krieger, Genevieve Prushinski, Fern Webber, Sam Holt, Megan Hendrickson, Kim Schlesinger, Kelly Schmidt, Aubrey Smith, Nicole Worgess, Anjali Patel, Malena Wheeler, Lucas Bauer, Bradley Bays, Nate Duffy, Noah Currie, Josh Fullerton, Zach Andersen, Matt Butler and Miles Rose.
“A Feast of Fools” will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Bureau County Metro Center, 837 Park Ave. West in Princeton.
