Water damages downtown SV building

SPRING VALLEY — A building in downtown Spring Valley is in dire need of repair with severe structural and water damage.

The building at 200 E. St. Paul St. needs an entirely new floor on the first level with the wood completely saturated with water and boards rotted, according to city engineer Jack Kusek at Monday’s council meeting.

“The floor should be done immediately,” Kusek said. “The first floor has to be totally replaced.”
