PRINCETON — Regent Sharon Bittner led the opening ritual for the November meeting of the Princeton-Illinois Chapter National Society Daughters of the Revolution.

District II Director Darlene Schoepski of Caledonia presented the program “Membership Alive and Thriving.” Bittner reported she and Schoepski participated on the Illinois DAR History bus tour in October, traveling to historical areas in the South.

This meeting was a Junior coffee-time event for 2012 honoring former and current juniors in the 75th anniversary of junior membership and the 50th anniversary of the Chapter Outstanding Junior contest. Jordan Philbrook and Brittany Day, prospective junior members, were special guests. Cupcakes were the theme for the day with a candy-filled cupcake pinata broken by the younger members. Prizes were awarded and a Helen Pauch Memorial Fund collection taken. Judy Schwiderski read a poem about Juniors and letters were read from members of their Junior membership experience. Forty-nine pounds of food and paper good was collected for the Junior’s Community Service Project.
