Lighting contest
SHEFFIELD — A Christmas lighting contest will take place in Sheffield, with judging at 6 p.m. Dec. 16. The winner will receive a ham compliments of the Sheffield Lions Club.
Pancake breakfast
LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Lions Club will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lions Club, 308 Howard St., LaMoille. Proceeds will go to LHS Operation Snowball. The Methodist women will also have a bake sale, and Santa will be attendance from 10 a.m. to noon.
Concert planned
OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Community College will host its annual holiday winter choir and show choir performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the St. Bede Academy Little Theatre. The choir is directed by Norm Engstrom and the show choir is directed and choreographed by Don Grant Zellmer. Admission is $5 or free with an IVCC or St. Bede student ID.
Weight loss seminar
PRINCETON — A free weight loss seminar will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 15 at the Bureau County Metro Center in Princeton. Walk-ins are welcome, however registration is encouraged as space is limited. To register, call 815-876-6952.
