Donald Lolli

SPRING VALLEY — Donald P. "Sugar" Lolli, 78, of 414 Prairie St., Spring Valley, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in his home.

Donald was born July 9, 1934, in Spring Valley to Peter "Scuds" and Kathryn (McCook) Lolli. He married the former Patricia Siebert on Nov. 25, 1976, in their new home in Spring Valley.

He was a graduate of Hall High School, Class of 1952. Upon graduating, he worked as a laborer for numerous contractors until 1956. He then joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1956 to 1958. Donald then worked as cement finisher for 30 years, working for various local contractors. He later worked for 19 years at American Nickeloid, until retirement.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Spring Valley and the Peru Y.M.C.A.

Donald looked forward to his many travels with his wife, Pat. He was an avid sports fan, loving all types of sports, but he was surely a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed spending his Sunday afternoons talking sports with all of "the guys." He also enjoyed his mornings with his friends at McDonald's.

Donald is survived by his soulmate, his wife Pat, of Spring Valley. He was also the best stepfather that Pat's four sons could ever have. They include Dan and Mike Crickman of Spring Valley, Rick (Mia) Crickman of Aurora and Jeff Crickman of California. Also surviving are eight stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; his sister, JoAnne (Gordon) Short of Plainfield; and four nieces and nephews, and several step-nieces and step-nephews.

He was preceded by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, with the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating, Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, as well as a one-half hour before services on Monday.
