Dr. Robert Dirks will speak at Princeton library
PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library will host a talk by Dr. Robert Dirks on the changing foodways of the Midwest at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Dr. Dirks will speak on frontier appetites and immigrant traditions, Depression fare and wartime rationing, fast food and slow food, based on his most recent book, “Come & Get It! McDonaldization and the Disappearance of Local Food from a Central Illinois Community.”
The program is free and open to all. The library is at 698 E. Peru St.
