Hermes: Taxes should drop
SPRING VALLEY — Spring Valley residents are going to see a slight drop in their taxes thanks to a decrease in Spring Valley Elementary School District's tax levy.
Superintendent Jim Hermes told the board last week that residents should notice about a nickel drop for every $100 of equalized assessed valuation. This is despite an overall drop in the EAV for the district, which dropped about $200,000 from the previous year to $72,579,311.
“I don't see that changing,” Hermes said.
