PROPHETSTOWN — Alice L. Morris, 80, of Prophetstown died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
Born Aug. 21, 1932, in Walnut to Omar and Arleta (Dietz) Morgan, she married Clellan Morris Dec. 26, 1950, in Princeton. He died Nov. 7, 1987.
She was a life-long farmer’s wife and also worked as a receptionist at Dr. Bryan’s dentistry office.
She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown. She was also part of the Prophetstown Red Hat Club, Royal Neighbors and the SOS Club. She worked as a nurses aid at Morrison Hospital and was a volunteer at Illini Hospital in Silvis.
Surviving are one son, Jim (Shirley) Morris of Coal Valley; one daughter, Mary (Mike) Vahle of Prophetstown; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cindy; one sister, Lois Jean; and one grandson, Tony Morris.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Frances Wawrysuk officiating. Visitation was held Monday at the McDonald Funeral Home in Prophetstown.
