Neponset Village Board

• Approved the audit presented by the accounting firm of Douglas W. Irwin and Co.

• Accepted the presentation of the insurance proposal for 2013 by Kevin Hermie from Jager Insurance Agency.

• Approved the bid for the Lindbeck House from Darin Snyder.

• Heard the water project is up and running, and the water is good.

• Heard the new electric service and alternative energy source is saving the village money on the electric bills.

• Heard there was one Ordinance 610 complaint which was taken care of by the police.

• Heard the spaghetti dinner was a success, and the Pride will give the village a check for the repairs to the community building.

• Heard the Christmas lights are up in Bertlesen Park.

• Heard trustees John Pratt and Ken Snyder will talk with the sheriff’s department regarding the new police radios.

• Heard a sidewalk needs to be installed between the old pump house and the new water plant to keep the dirt and mud out of the new building. The little building of the old pump house will also need to be refurbished and insulated because of the water pipes running through it.

• Approved the purchase of two rolls of new snow fence.

• Approved the purchase of one sign and post stating “No Parking Here to Corner.”

• Heard from Village President Carl Rohrig he would like to have an open house to let everyone see the new water plant in action this spring when all the work is completed.

• Decided there will be no Christmas bonuses this year due to the economy.

• Approved a request by Rohrig to update the village’s laptop computer and give the old village computer to the water department for the online water billing system. This will allow the billing to be done at Village Hall, where access to Internet service is available at no cost to the village.

• Approved changing the date of the January meeting to Jan. 23, 2013.
