Christmas parade will kick off at 1:30 today

Carl Prokes and Gary Moreland, members of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, will have their toy collection sleigh in Saturday’s Christmas parade, which will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at the former Nelson Drug Store and continue down Main Street to Soldiers and Sailors Park. New, unwrapped toys may be placed in their toy sleigh along the parade route to benefit the Bureau County United Way’s Christmas for Kids toy drive. Five hundred needy Bureau County children have been referred to this year’s drive. For information on how you can help brighten the holidays for families in need, contact the United Way office at 815-872-0821.

The Princeton Christmas parade will kick off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, from the former Nelson’s Drug Store. Santa’s helpers will collect food pantry donations along the Main Street route and the Christian Motorcyclist Association will pull its Bureau County United Way Christmas for Kids toy drive sleigh to collect toys.
