PRINCETON — Today, Thursday, United Health Care will meet at the Princeton Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a Dinner Table Program will be held at 6:30 p.m. Salmagundi — a Feast of Celebrations will include members of the Princeton area community sharing their holiday traditions from around the world with accompanying tabletop displays.

On Friday, the DAR will meet from 12:30 to 4 p.m.

On Monday, the BMP Special Ed Co-op will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the Monday night movie will be shown at 6:30 p.m. “Shane” tells of a weary gunfighter who attempts to settle down with a homestead family, but must face a smoldering settler/rancher conflict.

On Tuesday, the Preschool Story Hour will be held with the theme, “Bells.” All area preschoolers and their parents or guardians are welcome to attend. Also, Dangerous Path for Boys: Journeys during World War II will be at 3:30 p.m. Learn to write and decipher secret code and how to construct a bomb shelter at 6:30 p.m.; the PAHE Group will meet; and “The Storyteller’s Path: J.I. Lighthall’s Medicine Show” will be presented by storyteller and history buff Mick Henneberry. Henneberry will tell the true tale of Dr. J.I. Lighthall, born in Tiskilwa and a nationally known seller of patent medicines and Native American herbal remedies.

On Wednesday, the Central Bank Classic Club will meet from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and the Journeys Matinee “An American Tale: Fievel Goes West” will be shown at 1:30 p.m. A family of mice decides to move out west, unaware that they are falling into a trap perpetrated by a smooth talking cat.

On Dec. 13, there will be a Christmas After School Craft Day from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; the Early Beginnings Young Parenting Group will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; and Deborrah Wyndham will present a piano program at 6:30 p.m. — Ragtime Journeys and Holiday Stories.

TISKILWA — The Tiskilwa Public Library would like to extend an invitation to its Christmas Open House from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Hot cider and cookies will be served.
