Book fair
PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a book fair from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Medical Office Building lobby at the hospital. Each year the Auxiliary hosts a variety of book, bake and craft sales to raise money to purchase equipment for the hospital.
Winter concert
PRINCETON — The Princeton Community Band will present a winter concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in Princeton High School’s Sally Skinner Council Auditorium. The band will be under the direction of Brandon Stover, band director for the Princeton Elementary School District. Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be accepted.
Legion party
SPRING VALLEY — Dominic Oberto American Legion Post 182 will have its Christmas party at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, at Valley Bar and Grill. Reservations can be called to John McCormick at 815-664-4400.
Food pantry collection
PRINCETON — Members of the Princeton High School fresh/soph girls’ basketball team will collect donations door-to-door for the Bureau County Food Pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Donations can also be dropped off at the Tiger Town Trading Post, 101 N. Main St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dance registration
PRINCETON — Just For Kix will hold a winter registration for prospective dancers in grades K-12 from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 18 and 20. Classes will begin in January for new sessions. Winter dance show
PRINCETON — Just For Kix will host its annual winter dance show at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Prouty Gym at Princeton High School. The public is invited to attend. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students in K-12.
Blood drive
SHEFFIELD – An American Red Cross blood drive, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, will be from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 27 in St. Patrick Church Hall, 231 W. Atkinson. Appointments are preferred; walk-ins welcome. For an appointment, call Elizabeth Barry at 309-525-4080. A photo I.D. is needed.
New Year’s Eve dance
PRINCETON — A New Year’s Eve dance will be held Dec. 31 at the Princeton Elks Lodge. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and dancing from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The Generics Goodies Band will perform. Reservations are needed by Dec. 21. To avoid the event being cancelled, R.S.V.P. as soon as possible.
