Huskers down Lions

LAMOILLE – The LaMoille/Ohio Lions came up a little short in the home opener of their 2012-13 high school boys’ basketball season, falling 41-27 to the Serena Huskers in Little Ten Conference action Friday night.

You might say the two teams’ defense took center stage in this low-scoring contest, in a game in which the two opponents evenly split 62 turnovers.

“I thought tonight was a good team win for us,” said Serena coach Jon Immel. “We needed to come out and play some good defense, and I thought we did that. That’s really what we want to be about. I thought our kids played hard. I thought LaMoille played hard. They never quit. So, it was a good game, (and) a good win for us.”
