Vandals hit Zearing Park

PRINCETON — Vandals have struck at the new concession stand at Zearing Park in Princeton.

At Monday’s meeting of the Princeton Park Board, Superintendent of Parks Keith Scherer reported the vandalism occurred during the weekend — four night lights were damaged at the new concession stand. Two of the lights were destroyed, and the other two were cracked. Also there was some damage to a drinking fountain and other damage to a light in the older section of Zearing Park. There were no signs of tire marks at the vandalized areas, he said.

After Scherer’s report, Princeton Park Board President Gene Englehart said the board might have to consider closing the driveways into Zearing Park to help deter vandals.
