McCoys to note 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Gene McCoy of 18 Lange Ave., Savoy, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 30 at the United Methodist Church in Savoy. The event will be hosted by their children.

Gene McCoy and the former Kay Madsen were married Dec. 30, 1962, in the Tiskilwa Methodist Church by the Rev. C. Warren Long. They are the parents of three children, Michelle (John) Horvat of Champaign, Jeffrey (Stacy) McCoy of Champaign and Brian (Shawn) McCoy of Savoy. They also have five grandchildren, Laura Horvat and Joe Horvat, both of Champaign, and Mackenzie McCoy, Justin McCoy and Jeremy McCoy, all of Savoy.

Gene is employed by the University of Illinois as a dairy scientist and dairy judging team coach. Kay is employed by Champaign Unit 4 Schools.
