Auxiliary honors past president

LADD — Ladd American Legion Auxiliary Post 938 honored a past president, the late Betty Piacenti, by placing her photo on the wall of former presidents during the Auxiliary’s November meeting.

In other business, Auxiliary members raised the monetary prizes for the Americanism essay contest and Poppy Poster awards.

A collection of non-perishable foods and money was collected for the food pantry. Donations were also made for a Thanksgiving basket and Christmas basket for the food pantry. A donation was approved to the 16th District.

A newsletter on current happenings and upcoming projects will be mailed twice a year to out of state members and those unable to attend the fall and spring meetings.

A Christmas dinner was served from Softails, and games and prizes were awarded along with a door prize and gift exchange.

The next Auxiliary meeting will be April 23 hosted by Virginia McNally and Sandy Dunseth.

A pantry/paper shower for the Legion Hall will held at the April meeting with details to be provided later.
