Obituaries

Eunice Ioder

WALNUT — Eunice Marie Mize Ioder, 96, formerly of Ohio and Princeton, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

Born July 13, 1916, on the family farm near Bunker Hill, Ill., to William and Mary (Moody) Mize, she married LaVerne Ioder Aug. 9, 1954. He died in 1992.

She and her husband farmed near Ohio, Ill. She taught elementary school for 22 years and was also a long-time Sunday school teacher at the Red Oak United Methodist Church.

She is survived by 12 nieces and nephews, Virginia Mosler of Champaign, Mary Ann Otey of Tremont, Jeanie Jones of Wayland, Iowa, Bill Mize of Bunker Hill, Caryl Behrens of Walnut, Betty Pillen of Kewanee, Edith Orazem of Aitkin, Minn., Harry Ioder of Walnut, Jim Ioder of Gladstone, Mo., Ned Ioder of Streator, Dave Ioder of Elburn and Judy Sisler of DeKalb.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Kenneth; her brothers, sisters and in-laws, Harold and Sally Mize, Lucile Mize, Ivan and Mabel Ioder, Beulah and Marvin Ioder, Bernice and Reuben Winebrenner; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:30 pm. Tuesday at the Red Oak United Methodist Church of Walnut with the Rev. Katie Voigt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Ohio, Ill. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Vitas Hospice or the Red Oak United Methodist Church.

The Garland Funeral Home in Walnut is in charge of arrangements.
