DePue man sentenced to prison for sexual abuse
PRINCETON — A DePue man has been sentenced in Bureau County Court to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the Class 2 felony of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Luis Flores, 36, entered his guilty plea on Dec. 6 before Associate Circuit Judge C. J. Hollerich. Flores was also required to register as a sex offender and ordered to pay fines, fees and costs totaling $1,142.
Flores was represented in court by Public Defender Michael Henneberry. Prosecuting the case was State’s Attorney Patrick Herrmann.
In the early morning hours of Aug. 2, a DePue woman reported to the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department that her teenage daughter had been sexually assaulted.
Following an investigation by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department, Flores was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Flores has previous felony convictions in LaSalle County in 1995 for aggravated battery, in 2006 for filing a false report, and in 2012 for theft.
