HENRY — Love can light a tree this holiday season for someone you hold special.

Everyone is invited to take part in the Marshall-Putnam unit of the American Cancer Society’s “Love Lights a Tree” project.

A $5 donation will enable a love light to shine as a gift of hope for a cancer survivor or to honor any loved one. A donation is not only honoring someone you love, but it helps in the fight against cancer through research and public education.

The tree is on the corner of Third Street and West Park Row in Henry Central Park and will be lit in red lights through Dec. 31. For each $5 donation, a white light will replace a red light on the tree.

Donations can be mailed to: Love Lights a Tree, in care of Jean Goldner, 1038 Warren St., Henry, IL 61537. Checks should be made payable to the American Cancer Society and include the printed name of the person being honored and the name and address of the donor.
