A card shower is being held to celebrate the 90th birthday of Aneta Ziegler of Elmhurst, formerly of Walnut.

Born Dec. 19, 1922, to Albert and Clara (Bauer) Guither, she is a retired school teacher. She taught first grade in Ohio, Ill., for 24 years.

Aneta has five children, Deanna Ziegler of Elk Grove Village, Bryan Ziegler of Ottumwa, Iowa, Rowen Ziegler of LaHarpe, Gavin Ziegler of Rock Island and Twyla Spoolstra of Elmhurst. She also has eight grandchildren, Derek Ziegler, Benjamin, Anna and Sarah Ziegler, and Scott, Ryan, Hannah and Emily Spoolstra; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Leah Ziegler.
