Card shower planned for Carlson

A card shower is being held to celebrate the 95th birthday of Doris Carlson of Princeton.

Doris was born Dec. 26, 1917, and grew up in the Princeton area. She then lived in Chicagoland while raising her family and returned to Princeton about 37 years ago. She worked all of her life as a registered nurse, first in Chicagoland, then serving in the Army Nurse Corps in Europe during World War II, then at Hines V.A. Hospital and finally at Colonial Hall.

Doris married her husband, Robert, in 1946, and remained happily married until he passed away in 1980. She has five children, John (Bonnie) of New Hampshire, Richard of Colorado, Mary (Jim) of Princeton, Wayne (Mary Ellen) of Springfield and Roy (Ann) of Florida.
