PRINCETON — Michael A. Kargl, 52, of Princeton passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
He was born Aug. 22, 1960, in Evanston, Ill., to Robert A. and Sally Ann (Burkhard) Kargl Sr. He married Semia Kargl on June 10, 2009, in Princeton.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in engineering and was valedictorian of the School of Engineering. He worked as an engineer and served as vice president at Italvibras in Princeton.
He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton. He enjoyed fishing with his brother, Bob, and watching movies with his wife.
He is survived by his mother, Sally, and stepfather, Bill Hannon; his wife, Semia; three children, Risa (Brian) Josias, Joseph Zander and Alia Zander; two sisters, Cynthia L. (Kenneth) Jensen and Jeanne M. (Dale) Spencer; one brother, Robert A. (Susan Hooven) Kargl Jr.; and several nieces and nephews, Erik and Paul Jensen, Haley, Victoria, Corey, Casey, Rebecca and Kenneth Spencer, and Christopher (Mary) Bassett.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, with Father Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
