Tiskilwa sets aggregation public hearings

TISKILWA — Tiskilwa residents will be able to hear about their estimated savings in electric costs at two public hearings in January which are associated with the village’s electric aggregation program approved by voters Nov. 6.

Shawn Ajazi of Progressive Energy Group told village board members Tuesday night they needed to set the dates for the public hearings prior to signing the final contract with the electric supplier.

The first public hearing will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3, with the second at 6 p.m. Jan. 8 prior to the board’s monthly meeting at 7 p.m. A notice of the public hearings must be published in the Bureau Valley Chief two weeks prior to the first public hearing.
