Candidate filing period begins Monday

PRINCETON — Candidates for the April 2013 consolidated election can file their candidate packets starting Monday at their local election offices.

On Thursday, Bureau County Clerk Kami Hieronymus said elections to be determined on the April 9, 2013, consolidation election include those of school board members, village/city council members/trustees, township offices, and library board trustees, along with a few fire districts who have some elected positions.

On Dec. 2, Gov. Pat Quinn signed a bill moving the deadline to file petitions to run in the April 2013 election from 5 p.m. Dec. 24 to 5 p.m. Dec. 26.
