The value of trees
Pam Lange (left) of Princeton promotes the value of trees by planting a Sienna Glen Freeman maple tree, installed by Cliff Cartwright (right), owner of Bryant Nurseries of Princeton, as part of Princeton’s 50/50 tree reimbursement program. Princeton Mayor Keith Cain had proclaimed April 27 as Arbor Day in the city of Princeton, saying trees help cut heating and cooling costs, clean the air, produce oxygen and provide habitat for wildlife. Cain urged residents to plant one or more trees this year. Princeton has met the qualifications as a Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation for 23 consecutive years.
