Hall students author books for Guatemalan kids

Hall High School’s Spanish 4 class wrote original children’s storybooks for impoverished children in Guatemala. These books will travel to Guatemala with Dr. Mayra Daniel of Northern Illinois University this winter. Spanish class student include (front row, from left) Alex Olivares, Tony Biccochi and Robbie Lentz; and (back row) Rylee Redd, Sam Rizzo, Miguel Aldana, Jena Dalzot, Drew Lechner, Stephanie Stocking, Erik Alvarado, Valerie Hoffert and Katie Hoffert. The students created the stories and used the school computer lab to type, illustrate and edit their books in Spanish. Spanish teacher Donna Albrecht created this project in 2008 and her Spanish 4 class has written books for Guatemalan children every year since then.
