Clifford Johnson

PRINCETON — Clifford E. Johnson, 92, of Princeton passed peacefully to his heavenly home on Monday, Dec. 17. 2012.

He was born March 7, 1920, near Ohio, Ill., the son of Edward and Minnie (Erickson) Johnson. He grew up on a farm near Ohio and also worked in his uncle’s grocery store in Ohio. Clifford was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe with the Army’s 462nd Anti-Aircraft Battalion.

Clifford farmed in Dover and Bureau townships for 40 years, retiring when he was 70. He was of the United Methodist faith, and was an usher at the Ohio United Methodist church for many years. Upon the closure of that church, he joined the Hampshire Colony Church of Princeton.
