PRINCETON — Today, Thursday, a Christmas after-school craft day will be held at the Princeton Public Library from 3:30 to 5 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., a Dinner Table Program: Dressing the Table: Setting the table for the holidays in three different eras, from 19th century formality, to mid-century modern, to today’s contemporary look will be held. Flowers by Julia and Hoffman’s Patterns of the Past will describe how the fashion reflects the life and times of each.

On Monday, the library will close at 6 p.m. for New Year’s Eve,, and the library will be closed all day Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the Crafters Club will meet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Jan. 3, Praise and Coffee will meet at 6:30 p.m.

SPRING VALLEY — The Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library will be closed Monday and Tuesday for the New Year’s holiday.

Reading Buddies will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 3 in the Children’s Department. This is a time when students from Hall High School read stories, participate in activities, and have a craft with younger children in the community. Call 815-663-4741 or stop in to register for this event.

Story time is held every Tuesday from 5:30 until 6 p.m. in the children’s room. There is a story and a craft-related project during this time for preschool children through second grade. A parent must accompany their child. This is free of charge.

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille-Clarion Public Library continues to offer classes made possible through the Eliminate the Digital Divide Grant. The program is geared to the unemployed and underemployed but classes are open to all ages. “We have installed Cypress Resume for building or improving your resume,” said library director Joyce Sondgeroth. “We have also become an Illinois workNET partner offering job search assistance and training.” The library has added “A to Z the USA” and “A to Z the World.” Sondgeroth said this is a great resource for students doing projects or searching for colleges or for adults wanting to make a move or even planning a vacation or business trip. The possibilities are endless. Classes are ongoing, available during the day or evening and range from basic computer skills, intermediate computer skills to Microsoft Word and Excel.
