Also, due to the EDD Grant, the library now has eight public computers and a laptop if all of those are in use. There is also an iPad for anyone wanting to learn how to use one, and the library’s WiFi hotspot is available during library hours if users would like to use their own device.

The library will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday and closed Tuesday.

TISKILWA — Special holiday hours will be in effect at the Tiskilwa Public Library. The library will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and then closed on Tuesday.

The next book club/dinner discussion will take place at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21. “The Chaperone” by Laura Moriarty is inspired by the life of silent-film star Louise Brooks. It is the story of two women who could not be more different, and the summer that changed them both.

LADD — “A Taste of Ladd” cookbooks have arrived at the Ladd Public Library and are available for sale. This book is packed with 487 recipes contributed by the residents of Ladd and surrounding communities. Copies of the book are currently priced at $14 and may be purchased at the library, Ladd Village Hall or Special Effects.

The library continues to hold its pre-school story times on the first and third Monday of each month at 10:30 a.m.

PERU — The Peru Public Library holds a story time for children 3-5 at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday. Children will hear stories, sing songs, dance and learn finger plays.
