PRINCETON — The Buddy Bags Organization met Dec. 19 and packed 48 boxes for the winter break for children from the Princeton Elementary School, Malden School District and students in the 0 to 3 program. More than 50 people from area churches helped packed the boxes.
Buddy Bags is an ecumenical faith-based organization working to address childhood hunger. The group provides weekend snack kits to children whose primary source of nutrition is the free breakfast and lunch programs at school.
The group was also able to provide gifts to go with the food boxes, thanks to the Giving Tree Program run by the Lifesavers student organization at Princeton High School. The boxes were delivered Dec. 21.
Mark Frank is the president of the Buddy Bags Organization. For more information, visit www.princetonbuddybags.org or call Mark Frank at 815-875-2249. The group’s next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church in Princeton. Everyone is welcome to participate.
